Marco Bittelli Libera
Links In the late 90s, Marco began composing and performing his own music in the Northwest with Horace Alexander Young , a flute and saxophone player who has performed with leading artists, including BB King, Abdullah Ibrahim and McCoy Tyner.
The result of this international collaboration is Libera, a collection of nine original compositions inspired by Mediterranean rhythms, Latin roots and contemporary jazz.

Tunes:
Gennaio 1997
I wrote this tune in memory of a close friend of mine, Matteo Castellucci, a very gifted musician who passed away in January 1997.

Nudo
Nudo (nude in English) was inspired by my two children (Enrico and Cecilia) joyously cavorting around the house without clothes on.

Vento sulla Palouse
Vento sulla Palouse (Wind on the Palouse) was written one afternoon in the Fall when the first big gusts of wind blow over the Cascade range and across the rolling hills of the Palouse in Washington state.

Nexus
I wrote Nexus inspired by reading Henry Miller's novel of the same name.

Pulses
This 5/4 tune was inspired by the ease and energy with which an eastern European dance troupe choreographed to this odd timing, and by the wonderful chord progression of John Coltrane's Giant Steps.

Libera
Libera is written for a friend of mine who finally liberated herself from a violent and a painful childhood, and she could be finally be libera (free).

Something to remember
This tune is about the love for my wife and the memories we share.

Brel
Brel is dedicated to the works of the great French songwriter, Jacques Brel.
